Workplace violence is one of the most complex and dangerous occupational hazards facing healthcare workers today. Any employee who fears going to work is more likely to leave that employer, and hospitals know what that means to their ED recruiting, staffing and operations if they cannot find solutions to address the potential for violent patient behavior. However, real time data can provide the answer. When providers can collaborate and share risk data and notifications with downstream healthcare providers at registration and points of care, then care staff can be notified and take the precautions needed to stay safe and keep patients safe.
