The Columbia Radio Network's show Suspense produced over 900 radio broadcasts from 1942 to 1962, many of which became classics.  Actors like Cary Grant, Orson Welles, Humphrey Bogart, and Marlene Deitrich made this show first-rate. We begin with "The Hitchhiker", a tense drama written by Louise Fletcher especially for Orson Welles, and he performs it perfectly. You won't miss public pay phones after this story. The second show is "On A Country Road", starring Cary Grant and Cathy Lewis. It has all the elements of a good thriller- a couple making a night drive on a country road in the rain hear a radio report announcing that a crazy woman with a hatchet has escpaed from an asylum and police are warning everyone to stay indoors.  At that point Cary Grant says "this shortcut will save us some time" and the evening goes south fast. A great melt-down performance by Cathy Lewis. Coming Next....The Shadow If you enjoyed this show give RADIO DAYS  good review!!! We're just getting started and we need good reviews at Apple Podcasts.
