Teens are learning more and being tested less thanks to the first step in an overhaul of the national school qualification, the NCEA. From this year each subject has fewer but broader level one achievement standards. And while some teachers and principals are applauding the changes others are questioning the benefits. Education correspondent John Gerritsen reports.
