For those of you that are in or have been in the service industry, this story will hit very close to home... ...But, for those of you who have not, it doesn't matter, because... ...the process of being a good server or bartender is the EXACT SAME process as being a successful person in life...it's about 100% committing yourself to the process...including the good parts AND the bad parts. Because, in the service world, there are things you can control (setting up your station, having a clean uniform) and things you cannot (bad customers, clueless hostess seating, kitchen melt-downs). And the only way you are going to make any money is if you commit to sticking through the nightly disasters by ... having a good attitude rolling with the punches biting your tongue until you get in the kitchen! staying positive and working through the setbacks The ONLY way to make money in the service industry is to be able to do all of these things. The ONLY way to have the success in life that you want is to COMMIT to these things in everything you do. Lastly...I encourage everyone to do a few laps as a service industry worker...it's the best and worst job you will ever have...and that's good!
