This week the Storm Cellar opens up The Sports Bar - our guest Mike Solarte was the Triangle's premier hockey guy when the Hurricanes came to NC. An Associated Press award winning journalist for his Raleigh IceCaps coverage; Mike was THE go-to person for hockey.

We talked about Mike's journey in Raleigh and Charlotte as part of "850 the Buzz" and "Spectrum News 1"

We get some anecdotes about the Raleigh IceCaps including my personal favorite Lyle Wildgoose, the early days of Canes hockey, the tough position of playing/reporting in Greensboro, a terrific story about Arturs Irbe, and more.
