Steve D’angelo, an award-nominated and winning music composer with over 25 years experience, is responsible for all development and production of music themes and scores for EggPlant Long Format (LF). He has written music for children's shows such as Rocket Monkies, Curious George, and The Hollow. He has also composed scores for the CBC network: The National, The Fifth Estate, The Passionate Eye and Marketplace. Lorenzo Castelli, also a part of Eggplant LF, has contributed music to PBS's Sesame Street, Rocket Monkeys, Hollywood Death Trip and Gourmet Escapes. One of D'Angelo and Castelli's most recent score projects is for Netflix's original animated series CARMEN SANDIEGO.

Carmen Sandiego made her debut in a 1980s computer game franchise Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? and probably is best known for the Greg Lee-hosted game show that aired on PBS from 1991-1995. The animated series ran from 1994 to 1999 on Fox Kids. In this latest incarnation, Carmen Sandiego is back and ready for a new crop of international capers packed with thrilling adventure and intrigue. This fresh take presents an intimate look into Carmen's past where viewers will not only follow her escapades but also learn WHO in the world is Carmen Sandiego and WHY she became a super thief.

In the first half of this episode, composer Steve D'Angelo talks about the development of several motifs for key characters and groups such as: Carmen Sandiego, the villainous group V.I.L.E., and inspector Chase Diveneaux. He also shares how elements of film noir and Carmen's South American routes find there way into the score. In the second half, composer Lorenzo Castelli continues to open up the Carmen Sandiego original score by detailing some of the pieces that were stylistically unique in the series. He also describes two of the thematic pieces he wrote for Paperstar and for the mysterious organization, ACME. Lastly, he reveals how he incorporated the theme from the "Where is the World is Carmen Sandiego" television program from 1994.
