State Superintendent Tony Thurmond toured several schools in the L.A. Unified School District on Wednesday. He said districts are progressing well when it comes to getting kids back in classrooms. These cases are fully expected, because the vaccines don’t protect people 100 percent of the time. Lawmakers are trying to close loopholes, but some advocates for the incarcerated argue it could do more harm than good.
