It’s our movie event review of Spider-Man: Far From Home. We continue to cover the heck out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we break down this webslinger, & we can’t resist speculating about the future of the universe after the post credits roll on this one. ***This Spoiler Section Discusses Homecoming, Endgame, Scream 4, The Dark Knight & Lost*** Where’s The New Format? - Top of Show NONSPOILER REVIEW: Cast and Crew - 2:15 Plot Premise/Expectations - 7:50 Production Values - 10:20 Performances - 12:50 Script Thoughts - 17:31 Oscars Lens - 18:54 SPOILER WARNING DANCE BREAK - 20:03 SPOILER-FILLED REVIEW: Running Down the Plot - (A Fun Setup - 21:21) (Fun and Games - 24:52) (Smoke, Mirrors, and Mysterio - 27:06) (Turning Heel - 32:15) (Worsts: Questionable Sleuthing + Tech - 35:25) Finale Talk - 41:15 (And Finale Worsts - 42:36) Credit Scenes Discussion - 46:21 Speculating on Spider-Man’s MCU Send Off - 53:18 Final Grades - 57:46 Your Homework/Our Social Medias - 1:00:16 Words of Wisdom/Coming Next On MMO - 1:00:56 The MCU has given us some of the biggest movie events in the past 10 years, and although this film might not be the most consequential, it is one of the more fun entries into Marvel’s filmmaking. Of course, we have a blast talking about Spider-Man: Far From Home in both non-spoiler and spoiler filled discussions. In non-spoilers, we tell you what you need to know about the film’s cast & crew, critical & audience receptions, as well as its box office projections and early returns from overseas. Then we chat about our varying expectations after Endgame, what films this one reminds us of from the Pixar Series & previous Spider-Man entries, and our favorite performance amongst the terrific ensemble cast. Then we play the spoiler warning dance music, and we dive into a recap of the plot, where we analyze all of the screenwriting tricks and build up to the film’s crazy finale. Here’s where those Homecoming, Endgame, Scream 4, The Dark Knight, and Lost comparisons come into play. Hopefully, all of those are essential viewing to the point. Yes, this movie brings up major speculation for upcoming Marvel & Sony films, and we discuss both at the end of our spoiler section. Will the Disney Plus streaming service tie into any of this? Can we guess the plotline for the next phase of the MCU? We have to ask, and do feel free to send us your thoughts, as we admittedly don’t know as much as we might think we do. Regardless, it’s a lot of fun to discuss before we close the review with our final grades. If you enjoyed this episode, be sure to check out our entire Marvel Cinematic Universe playlist on Soundcloud. We did a full re-watch heading into Avengers Infinity War, & we’ve reviewed every film since including a 6 show arc on Avengers: Endgame, and a full Oscars Profile on Captain Marvel. We’ve also reviewed several other new films now in theaters like Toy Story 4 (after a full Pixar Re-Watch), and Annabelle Comes Home (where we did a series on the Conjuring Universe last October). So do please dive into our playlist tab on our Soundcloud account to pick your MMO movie event coverage. We have so much fun with both Oscar & blockbuster films alike. Do let us know what you think about Spider-Man: Far From Home and the overall direction of the MCU. We’re at MMandOscar on Twitter, and we are on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail.
