The term “fast fashion” brings to mind factories spitting out enormous volumes of clothing using cheap fabric and sweatshop labor. All so that we, the consumers, can sport the latest new looks at low prices. But the industry has become a boiling cauldron of questionable ethics. From mafia style business practices to sweatshop labor, not to even mention the environmental costs. All of which begs the question: should fast fashion even exist? Elizabeth Segran, a senior staff writer at Fast Company, joins The Excerpt to dig into these issues.
