Blade is the 1998 superhero horror film directed by Stephen Norrington and writtten by David S. Goyer, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The first entry in the Blade film trilogy, the film stars Wesley Snipes as the half-vampire "daywalker" (with vampire strengths but not their weaknesses). That Film Stew's Luke and Jae revisit this dark comic book movie, the success of which, set the stage for further modern comic book film adaptions. Eric Brooks/Blade, his mentor Abraham Whistler (Kris Kristofferson), and hematologist Karen Jensen (N'Bushe Wright), fight against vampires, namely the exceptionally vicous Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff). These modern-day technologically advanced vampires are in search of Blade's special blood type which is needed to summon an evil god.
