Taylor Kitsch is lost in our world and found in another as John Carter. Directed by Andrew Stanton, John Carter is the science fiction action film based on the Barsoom series of novels by Edger Rice Burroughs. Luke and Jae revisit this 2012 movie which was written by Stanton, Mark Andrews, and Michael Chabon. The film takes most of its inspiration from the first entry in the novel series - A Princess of Mars (1912). When Civil War veteren John Carter mysteriously awakens on the surface of Mars / Barsoom, he reluctantly becomes embroiled in an epic conflict among the red planet's inhabitants, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and Princess Dejah Thoros (Lynn Collins).
