Welcome to a special Emmy Awards SobieCast for Comicnoobs! In this cast Sobie brings on Drew to talk about the upcoming Emmy Awards (9/18) and fill out the official Comicnoobs Emmy Ballot. They begin the cast by talk about the often weird complexities of the Comedy category (4:00), then they start by talking about the Supporting Actor Category and how Tony Hale and VEEP will have a big night (6:40), they educate you on a weird show nobody has ever seen called Getting Up and talk about Allison Janney, Emmy Queen in the Supporting Actress Category (10:20), then jump right into how the Emmy’s love them some Bill Macy and the rest of the Lead Actor category (14:40), then talk about he always great Lead Actress category where they could have had at least 10 nominations and made us happy (18:35), then round out Comedy talk by discussing who will win best comedy series and Sobie admits that he likes Modern Family after 6 years (25:10). They switch gears and briefly talk about TV Mini-Series where all you need to know is that Fargo and People v. OJ will win everything and should win everything (29:00). They get a little more serious with the discussion of Drama (33:15), and breakdown the Dame Maggie Smith Quarrelary and how it will handcuff their favorites in Supporting Actress (33:45), then discuss the most meh category of the night in Supporting Actor (39:10), then jump over to Lead Actress (44:30) where Sobie is beyond happy that The Americans and Keri Russell have finally got their due and Drew presents a case for Robin Wright to win, then while discussing the Lead Actor category, Sobie ponders the question, “How is Ray Donovan still a thing.” (48:30), and they close out the cast by talking about Drama Series (56:40) and how Game of Thrones has this one in the bag and try to make a case for possible upsets.
