Australia's lowest paid workers will earn an extra $33 a week from July after the Fair Work Commission boosted the minimum wage by 3.75 per cent.

The CEO of the Council of Small Business Organisations says it was a "textbook" decision from the Fair Work Commission - but warns that it has "ripple effects" for small businesses, with many already struggling with rising costs.
