Tonight’s readings comes from The "Twenty-Seventh" A Regimental History. Published in 1866 and written by Winthrop D. Sheldon, this book looks at the campaign of the Twenty-seventh Regiment Connecticut volunteers which began in the most critical and anxious period of the war against the rebellion. The year was 1862.
