Submit ReviewIf you're not careful, producing your podcast can devour your entire week. Simplify your podcasting process to ensure you publish an episode every week while leaving you plenty of time to grow your business and serve your clients.
On this episode, we will talk with Andy Charles regarding his podcast Andy's Personal Development. His biggest struggle is his process for marketing and promotions. We will simplify that today.
EDITING
I have a team that can help you with your editing and publishing.
You have three different options.
The Basic option provides you basic editing services. The team will do basic edits for your show and get it ready to publish.
This editing includes editing, noise reduction, volume leveling, mixing, and mastering.
If you are also doing video, this level will give you professional video editing and a YouTube thumbnail.
To help you promotion, you get an audiogram for your social media.
You get all of that for about $56 an episode. What could you do in your business with the time you would spend editing your show? Attracting new client? Working with your current clients? Would that be worth $56?
The Plus package is the most popular. In that package, you get coaching and show notes plus everything in the Basic package. The team uploads your show to your audio host, like Libsyn. They upload your video to YouTube. You also get a captioned video for social media. The coaching and basic editing alone is worth the investment in the Plus package.
The Premium package is designed for coaches who simply want to record the show and have the team to the rest. You get everything included in the Basic and Plus packages.
You also get one-on-one coaching with me. The package includes advanced SEO-optimized show notes, timestamps to the resources mentions, a quote card for socials, and a blog header image for your website.
The team also uploads the show notes to your website. The Premium package gets your show published and posted to your website. It's the full deal.
See all 3 options and select the package that works best for you on the Podcast Talent Coach website at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/editing.
SIMPLIFY YOUR PROCESS
How can you simplify your process to save time each week.
As you work on your process, look for things you do over and over again.
Are there ways to do that activity once and use it again and again?
Or, can you do the task multiple times during one sitting to save set up and tear-down time?
There are three areas where you can start to simplify your process.
WORKPARTS
If you are like me, there are pieces of audio you use in every episode. For me, it would be my open and close for my show.
Make these pieces easy to insert into your podcast.
I begin creating an episode by recording the primary content. Then, I insert the prerecorded open and close as the final step and save it as one file.
Since I use the prerecorded open and close in every episode, I have those pieces saved in one production file. This file only contains that audio.
When it comes time to insert the pieces, I go to the file and drag them into the session. Those pieces are the only things in that folder.
No searching. No wasting time. It just simplifies the processes.
Are there audio pieces you use in every episode? If so, save these pieces as individual files that you can easily access and insert.
RECORDING
It takes time to set up and tear down your gear each time you record an episode. Even it you leave it in a studio, it still takes time to prepare to record.
After setting up once, record two or three episodes.
You will be surprised how much time you can save by recording multiple shows at one time. Mental prep, studio prep and show prep all take time. Do it once for multiple episodes.
PUBLISHING
Batch your publishing work for multiple episodes. Similar to recording, getting ready to publish takes time.
However, you can save time if you set up once and schedule multiple episodes to publish.
Simply scheduled your episodes to publish rather than publishing in real time.
