One of the points that came through in that article is maybe it’s just a waste of money and it'll never pay out.

Given that none of us knows what’s around the corner, it’s very important to have financial protection in place. And, of course, COVID-19 has been a timely reminder of this. Life insurance is a product designed to protect your loved ones’ finances should you pass away (or be diagnosed with a terminal illness) during the term of the policy, although we obviously would rather not think about it, it's crucial to make sure your dependants are covered should you no longer be around to support them.
