Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer, assistant general manager Dan Morgan, and director of college scouting Cole Spencer all met with the local media on Tuesday ahead of the NFL Draft. The group spoke about the interest in trading back, adding a quarterback this weekend via the draft or the veteran, the top tackle prospects, and more.

One news item that came out of the media availability was Scott Fitterer once again stating the team's intention to exercise the fifth-year option on fourth-year Pro Bowl defensive end Brian Burns. Fitterer also stated that the team intends to work out a long-term deal for Burns. What could an extension look like for Burns?
