The Giants just made a major move, signing LHP Carlos Rodón to a two-year, $44 million deal. Rodón joins breakout star Logan Webb at the top of the Giants' rotation, one that now looks to be among the best in the game -- assuming health.

Health is not something that can be assumed with the rest of the Giants' rotation, let alone Rodón. He has dealt with injuries throughout his career, including shoulder fatigue in 2021. Nevertheless, he has huge upside when he's on the field, as evidenced by his sensational ERA and strikeout rate last season, both of which ranked among the very best in the game.

With Rodón in the fold, the Giants are likely to turn their attention to adding a significant piece on offense. They'll need to continue to stockpile depth on the starting pitching front, but the heavy lifting is out of the way after the Giants re-signed Anthony DeSclafani and Alex Wood prior to the lockout, in addition to bringing in newcomer Alex Cobb on a two-year deal. Kevin Gausman, notably, departed on a five-year deal with the Blue Jays.
