UNBELIEVABLE! The San Francisco Giants got their second walk-off home run in three days last night, thanks to two-out magic from Thairo Estrada and Brandon Crawford. Estrada was the hero on Sunday, hitting a two-run homer with one out in the ninth. Yesterday, the Giants looked destined for a super frustrating 1-0 loss after there were two outs and nobody on in the last inning. But Estrada, who took a close pitch and the home plate umpire appeared close to calling him out, delivered for the SF Giants again and Crawford finally connected well on what was otherwise a frustrating night at the plate for him.

Crawford hasn't been anything close to the same guy he was last year when he finished fourth in NL MVP voting. In fact, he's performed below his career norms this season. But he has looked better since coming off the injured list about a week and a half ago, and it was great to see him finally make some hard, impactful contact. Jakob Junis was another hero from yesterday. He held the D-backs to one run in seven strong innings, and his emergence has been another bright spot of the 2022 season. Junis has drastically altered his pitch usage from his time with the Royals, and he is arbitration eligible next season, meaning the Giants will almost certainly bring him back.

The Giants' position in the standings is discussed. They gained a full game on the scuffling Padres, who lost again to the Marlins yesterday. The Giants are just 4.5 games out of the final playoff spot in the NL, and are very much alive with 46 games to play. To their credit, they've been hot. But they'll need to stay hot if they hope to secure a postseason berth.
