The San Francisco Giants went into LA and embarrassed the Dodgers. The Giants did things to LA that hadn't been done since the 1800s. The SF Giants' 15-0 rout in Game 2 was LA's largest shutout loss in well over 100 years. The Giants came back from a significant deficit—again—in Game 1 of the series, after being no-hit by a pitcher making his MLB debut after six. And in the finale, Logan Webb and a relentless, grinding offense took care of business to finish off the historic sweep.

Despite all the positives, there has been one recent negative: SF Giants players are dropping like flies. It started with Mitch Haniger breaking his forearm in St. Louis, and J.D. Davis spraining his ankle one pitch earlier. In LA, the Giants lost John Brebbia to a lat strain for up to two months, Wilmer Flores to a foot contusion, Alex Cobb to a strained oblique, and Casey Schmitt was drilled in the forearm by a pitch in a similar manner to Haniger. Thankfully, X-rays came back negative.

The Giants begin a huge upcoming homestand against the Padres (for four) and the D-backs (for three). The San Francisco Giants are now in second place in the NL West, passing over the Dodgers, but the Padres are playing well and are looking to finally get over the hump after a slow start to their season. Arizona is in first place, but their run differential suggests regression may be coming. The Giants have the second-best run differential in the NL, trailing only the 46-26 Braves. The Giants have been the best team in MLB for over a month now.
