Former AFL boss Gillon McLachlan will take the reins at gambling giant Tabcorp in August, Independent Senator David Pocock says the move comes at a time "where we need to break the nexus between sport and gambling". The Senator says Government inaction on the Murphy review recommendations for gambling has had a role to play in this move, and warns the Government will ultimately be left with the "societal costs" of Australia's gambling addiction.
