In order to teach growth mindset, we need to be sure it’s coming from an authentic place. It seems that much growth mindset teaching is focused on changing the attitudes of others’, rather than looking at how we internalize and model it ourselves. The good news is that we can learn and become more authentic, and in this episodes you’ll hear processes to help you achieve this, in turn, becoming a more effective teacher and being better received. Topics covered: – Concept of authenticity and its importance when teaching growth mindset – Processes for becoming more authentic – Importance of consistent movements and micromovents – Equine therapy – Biosignals and how people can detect the signals we emit – What’s missing from growth mindset teaching – Biofeedback that comes with being authentic The bottom line: Experiment. Experiment. Experiment. If you are asking people to be more brave and make mistakes and push themselves to learn, are you? Become a beginner again – in anything – and feel what it feels like to be self-conscious, fumble and be awkward and vulnerable.  Notice how it feels, and what you need to say to yourself to get through it.  Then when you talk to people about growth mindset, they’ll feel your sincerity. Your words will be more natural.  .  And you likely won’t need to rely on someone else’s catchphrases or research to talk about what its like to build a new ‘muscle’ and push through the dip. https://art19.com/shows/akimbo
