While in college Sean Spillane co-founded a band called Otto which eventually became ARLO and went on to sign with Sub Pop Records in 2000. ARLO toured extensively in the U.S. and played with bands like The Shins, Wilco, and The Foo Fighters.  After ARLO disbanded he joined Midway, a Los Angeles based band with a rabid following.

In 2010 he wrote, produced, recorded and performed original songs and the score for Lucky Mckee's "The Woman" which melted faces and made heads explode when it premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

The following year, Spillane composed and wrote original 80's inspired songs for The Chiller Network's "Ghoul".

In 2012 he composed and wrote songs for "Jug Face" a film starring former guest of the Following Films podcast, Lauren Ashley Carter. Who in addition to being a gifted actress, does a wicked good Jodie Foster impersonation.

I had Sean on the show to discuss one of his latest projects, MURDER MADE EASY, a film that he provided both the soundtract and the score. We also discuss his Indie Country band "Highland Hawks" which draws inspiration from growing up in Texas and from the outlaw country movement of the 1970's and early 1980's.

And as always, I manage to shoehorn in my love of the music in the underappreciated 90’s gem RAVENOUS.
