This is the email that lead to this interview. If you have suggestions then let me know. Franz, I Greatly enjoy your podcast, and I want to thank you for all the time you have put in to aggregate all this information about sailing around the globe. I love putting on old podcasts and following the journeys around whether it's in the Fjords of Sweden or the Gulf of Corinth. I am a lifelong sailor and was looking forward to hearing you speak at my home yacht club this spring, Columbia Yacht Club., obviously we are living in a different world now then when those plans were made. If you are looking for submissions for future podcast guests I have a transatlantic story to share. The trip was extremely formative and gave me a lot of perspective on sailing. The crossing was not smooth due to poor planning, unrealistic expectations under provisioning, substance abuse, we ran through our sail inventory blowing through spinnakers and disabling our jib foil. We spent time in Gran Canaria outfitting a J122 and preparing it for the crossing. I can speak to what goes into the trip, what day to day life looked like on our 18 day passage and how our crew of sailors of various backgrounds delivered the boat across the Atlantic. It was my most intense 3 weeks of sailing I have done and would be happy to speak to all of it , a narrow aspect of the experience or anything in between. ----------------- If you would like to support the Sailing in the Mediterranean and Beyond Podcast there are several ways! 1 Become a Patreon 2 Become a Sponsor 3 Buy my Sailing Audio lessons Past Podcasts may now be found HERE If you have ideas for future podcasts or comments please drop me a note! and PLEASE rate my podcast in iTunes and perhaps write a note.
