It’s far from the perfect bounce back, but Manchester United have not crumbled after that harrowing Anfield defeat. A confident dismantling of Real Betis in the UEFA Europa League was the key, and the Reds really should have scored six or seven. When Southampton came to town, there can be few complaints that the team failed to score. United simply didn’t create enough. A disappointing 0-0 draw against a poor side, and a quite forgettable match, but one that does tell us plenty about this team, and that’s what your hosts Harry Robinson and Jack Tait analyse on the Manchester United Weekly Podcast this week.
The two Reds consider United’s faults and talk about Casemiro’s red card and a couple of other controversial decisions. They take a moment to remember Ian Stirling, a giant of Manchester United’s support who sadly died at the weekend. Then there's a review of the win over Real Betis in brief, a preview the second leg in Seville, your regular Academy, loan and United Women updates, and a new round of Guess the Player.
In the middle of the show, our brilliant Patrons will get their bonus Q&A, in which Harry and Jack play a schoolyard-style pick-up game to try and pick the best United team.
