We've spent a lot of time investigating our own perspectives of what it means to be Asian American. But what does being Asian American mean to other Asians across the world, and how does the larger Asian diaspora think of race and identity?

We're joined this week by Cherrie from With Chinese Characteristics podcast to dive into this topic. We kick off the episode by asking Cherrie to explain her experience transitioning from the majority in China to a minority individual in the US. Along the way, we ask her to reveal the most amusing and the wackiest experiences she has had as an Asian American individual. We also look into how the disparate ethnic groups in China think of each other, and how socioeconomic divides reinforce divisions between and within ethnic groups.

Join us at the close for the Fortune Cookie, where we ask Cherrie to spill the secrets on how Asians in Asia really perceive Asian Americans.

You can listen to With Chinese Characteristics podcast on all major podcast networks! With Chinese Characteristics is a podcast where co-hosts Cherrie and Natalie discuss interesting topics involving China and Asian-Americans.
