On today’s episode, meet Resilient Laketa! out of Baton Rouge Louisiana. Ms. Laketa Smith is a Powerhouse. She is the founder and executive director of A Bella LaFemme Society. Their mission is to provide minority women with scholarships and to promote mental wellness. She is a prison reform crusader, active on community initiatives, and walks the talk in multiple states. I can not tell a lie, I know about the prison system in Pennsylvania, but to hear what she shared about the criminal justice system in Louisiana blew my mind. This is a woman’s voice that needs to be heard in the narrative of criminal justice reform and I’m glad she’s sharing her voice with us!
