Before the Romans, before the Anglo-Saxons, before the Scandinavian or Norman invasions, there were these weird structures: temple like megalithic standing stones, like the well-known Stonehenge, and large grass covered earthen mounds, man-made earthworks with seemingly subterranean magical intent.
