This months finds your RVNavigators sailing on both the oceans (Atlantic) and Rivers of Europe. We had ventured across the Atlantic in order to attend the famous Tulip festival in Amsterdam. In this episode we compare ocean to river cruising as well as large vs small cruising. Of course there is the usual Ring news and comments on RV topics.
This months finds your RVNavigators sailing on both the Atlantic ocean and Rivers of Europe. We had ventured across the Atlantic in order to attend the famous Tulip festival in Amsterdam. Rather than take on jet lag (7 hrs in this case), we decided to sail across the Atlantic in 14 days. The sailing was amazingly smooth with no storms for the entire 14 days. Although the itinerary only called for 4 port calls, and 9 days of sailing we enjoyed the journey and the amenities on the ship, the Enchanted Princess.
After arriving in Amsterdam, we made our first visit to the Keukenhof gardens housing the 17 acres of tulips. The flowers were in full bloom and the day was spectacular as we enjoyed the display of color. We’ll be making couple of addition visits to the gardens later in the trip. We then boarded the Viking Sagrun for a 10 river cruise that will depart and return to Amsterdam after visiting several stops in the Netherlands.
