Prolific jazz bassist Ron Carter turns 85 today. On May 10 he'll be celebrating his birthday with a career-retrospective concert at Carnegie Hall, called For the Love of Ron: Ron Carter and Friends. Carter, who was a member of Miles Davis's Second Great Quintet and has become the most recorded bassist of all time (at over 2200 recordings), joins us to preview the concert and reflect on his career.
