Submit ReviewGene's comment that he didn't "enjoy Australian cinema" triggered quite a few rebuttals in the form of Shat The Movies commissions. And neo-Nazi drama "Romper Stomper" just might be the one that changed his mind.
Before there was 2000's "Gladiator" or 2012's "Les Miserables," a young Russell Crowe was looking mighty fine while sporting tighty whities, engaging in some ultraviolence, and throwing in a little surprise doggystyle. But make no mistake, "Romper Stomper" was a serious film that straddled the line between zombie movie and "American History X." And it made some points that are incredibly relevant today.
In this episode, the Shat Crew discusses odd editing choices, racist stereotypes, the history of Footscray and the tragic tale of Crowe's co-star Daniel Pollock.
