Synopsis:
It’s 1934 and Victoria Grant – played by Julie Andrews – is stranded in Paris. Deserted by her runaway boss, she is penniless, hungry, and eviction looms large on the horizon.
A series of bizarre events leads Victoria to team up with Toddy (Robert Preston)! With Toddy as her mentor, Victoria embarks upon a strange new career – a female impersonator with a difference: a woman pretending to be a man impersonating a woman, and so Count Victor Grazinski is born, and becomes the toast of Parisienne nightlife.
However, King Marchand (James Garner), the owner of Chicago’s most successful nightclub, is captivated, confused, fascinated… and is determined to discover Victor/Victoria’s secret.
Is she a he pretending to be a she, or is he a she pretending to be a he?
