Something has survived in this science fiction adventure film – the second instalment to Jurassic Park. You may be checking into Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, so whilst that is happening, we are going to take the opportunity to revisit this 23-year-old film.
Rewind with us to 1997 to talk about all things The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Directed once again by Steven Spielberg and written by David Koepp, The Lost World: Jurassic Park is loosely based on Michael Crichton’s 1995 novel The Lost World. Jeff Goldblum returns as the eccentric chaos theorist and mathematician Ian Malcolm, four years after the disaster at Jurassic Park.
John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) summons Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) to his home with some startling information – there are dinosaurs on a second island alive and well and even breeding. Life found a way! Hammond sends a team, led by Malcolm, to Isla Sorna, to observe and document the animals. Hammond’s team includes Dr. Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore), Nick Van Owen (Vince Vaughn), Eddie Carr (Richard Schiff), and Malcolm’s stow away teenage daughter Kelly (Vanessa Lee Chester). They come into conflict with another team led by InGen and Hammond’s financiers who plan on bringing some of the dinosaurs back to the United States.
