The Netflix documentary "The Social Dilemma" includes extensive on-camera interviews with former tech wizards from some of the biggest tech companies including Facebook and Google. These are merged with a dramatized illustration of how algorithms work, played by Vincent Kartheiser, the actor who played Pete Campbell on Mad Men (and happens to be married to Alexis Bledel). You'll see interviews with top tech minds, leaders, and engineers behind things like the infinite scroll, the Like button, and Gmail including early Facebook employee Chamath Palihapitiya, former Google member Tristan Harris, Pinterest President Tim Kendall, virtual reality inventor Jaron Lanier, and more. It takes place around the hypothetical story of how social networks impacted one American family, in particular a teenage boy. Stream this documentary tonight.
