The minister and civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta Georgia. Maybe most remembered by his famous “I have a dream…” speech or the march from Selma, King was a prominent figure in the civil rights movement of the 1960s, fighting for the equality of Black Americans. Although he is revered today as an American icon, King remained a controversial figure throughout his lifetime and several years after his death amongst much of white America. Today, we’re celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. 's impact by opening the phones to listeners to share their memories of the historical figure. What does King’s legacy mean to you?
