Since the typical weekly shows we do, whether that’s MMOW or Oscar Race Checkpoint, center around the news of the film industry, and since the news of the film industry has been so lousy of late, we haven’t been churning out those series as we usually do. So we’ve been getting creative with our news episodes, bringing on guests like The Nomcast’s Andrew Morgan to talk about Netflix or leading with one major news story before we do a fun Top 5 Show, like we just did with our Christopher Nolan Wishlist after talking about Tenet. But lost in the shuffle of these podcast programming gymnastics, we haven’t been giving you our typical What We’re Watching rapid fire movie reviews segment. That means, we’re a little pent up.
So in the vein of Critically Acclaimed, a podcast we love and you should too, we didn’t overthink the format and decided to review over 20 movies in 1 episode. Also Mike did what he normally does and watched a ton of new stuff, and Mike 1 watched a whole bunch of classics. Of course, M1 hit up a few horror films, and of course, M2 watched a few international films. But overall, we hope the result is a beautiful buffet of movie watching possibilities for any film loving appetite.
If you haven’t seen any of these films, don’t worry. The episode is completely spoiler free, and although we joke about potential spoilers, I think we were pretty darned good about steering clear of any major plot movements. Spoiler-a-phobes may find fault as we may talk about the Act I plot / premise or perhaps an early scene or two. But otherwise, it’s all non-spoilers.
We hope this episode helps those stuck back in quarantine, and if we’re providing you a service, do please support the show by leaving us a 5 Star Review on Apple Podcasts. We really appreciate the help.
Otherwise, we wanna know your thoughts on any of these films. We’re at MMandOscar on Twitter, and we are on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail. You can subscribe / rate / review / like / share / & listen to us on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Google Play, Tune In, Spotify, and just about wherever you might listen. We’re Mike, Mike, & Oscar, and we’re making awards season year round, without the stuffiness. Thanks for listening.
