The Boston Red Sox have had better weekends.
After winning in thrilling extra-inning fashion Friday in a 5-4 victory over the New York Yankees, Boston dropped the next two games to officially close out the second half of the 2022 MLB season. But more than losing another series to another AL East opponent, the Red Sox also lost Chris Sale in the first inning of Sunday's game after getting hit with a 106-mph comebacker that broke his pinky finger on his left hand.
NESN's Lauren Campbell recaps the weekend and what Sale's injury could mean for the Red Sox at the Aug 2. MLB trade deadline. Lauren also looks at who the Red Sox selected in this year's MLB Draft and why no one should panic because they selected two shortstops.
