United Artists released Red Dawn to theaters on August 10, 1984. John Milius directs the film which stars Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, and Lea Thompson. Originally recorded on November 21, 2011. Red Dawn Movie Summary In 1984’s Red Dawn, the United States is strategically isolated after several European nations withdraw from NATO. The Soviet Union and its Warsaw Pact partners use this as an opportunity to expand their influence. Elsewhere, the Ukrainian wheat harvest fails as a communist coup d’etat takes over Mexico. On a lovely September morning, in the town of Calumet, Colorado, a local high school teacher spots Soviet paratroopers landing in a nearby field. The paratroopers open fire on the teacher. Chaos ensues as people flee the invasion. Downtown, Cuban and Soviet troops try to restore order for their occupation. The Cuban Colonel named Bella orders the KGB to retrieve the local sporting good’s store records of gun sales on the ATF’s Form 4473. It lists which citizens have purchased what firearms, and where they live.   (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Please let us know what you think of the film in the comments section, and rate this movie from one to five stars below as well.
