Submit ReviewThe Lakers re-introduced Rajon Rondo to the local media on Tuesday, and his comments about playing time (which he seems to acknowledge could be spotty at times), the hyper-veteranness of the team (which he believes won't be a problem) and his role as an important, needed voice in the locker room together revealed a great deal about how this team could operate, and what its fundamental character will look like.
Meanwhile, for all the talk of the older guys on the team, it's young ones like Kendrick Nunn and especially Talen Horton-Tucker that will ultimately dictate how Frank Vogel's rotations play out. There are realistic scenarios where THT plays 15 minutes a night, and others where he's on the floor for 25-plus. The space between those endpoints will significantly impact how much other players on the roster actually see the floor. So what are the factors that will determine THT's fate?
Finally, Jake Fisher of Bleacher Report noted the Lakers are a potential destination for DeAndre Jordan should he be bought out in Brooklyn. That, of course, seems to assume that Marc Gasol isn't actually around, anymore. Conversations around Gasol not sticking around for the second year of his deal - whether because he chooses to walk away or the Lakers make that choice for him - have been a running theme of the offseason. Hard to know exactly what's going on here and why, but it sure feels like something is off.
Is Jordan a good fit? What happens if Gasol goes?
