The Marlborough Harbourmaster is assessing the risks of large vessels, including the Cook Strait ferries, continuing to use Tory Channel. The relatively narrow channel shaves about thirty minutes off each crossing between Picton and Wellington. But the winding waterway is hazardous - with tidal currents reaching five knots - and busy. Marlborough Harbourmaster Jake Oliver spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
