Central Western Queensland's Blackall Saleyards has seen more record prices this week with lightweight steers selling to 690 cents per kilogram, Tambo grazier Mark Wemyss bought just over 200 replacement steers and says he's hoping to sell again for a profit and Meat and Livestock Australia's market information manager Stephen Bignall says the quarterly projections are for the herd size to reach 26 million head a slight increase and the record high cattle prices are contributing to higher carcase weights, they've been revised 11kg higher to an average of 311.7kg for 2021.
