A study conducted by Stony Brook University has revealed a shift in American adults' attitudes toward artificial intelligence (AI) between 2021 and 2023. The study, led by Dr. Jason Jones and Dr. Steven Skiena, compared data from surveys conducted in March 2021 and April 2023. The results showed that in 2023, the American public displayed more confidence in the capabilities of AI, likely influenced by recent advancements in AI technology. However, participants were increasingly opposed to granting AI systems the same rights as humans. The study highlights the importance of continued research to understand the evolving impact of AI on society and public perception. Another survey is planned in the future to explore this further.
