The San Francisco Giants never had a real shot in this one as they trailed the San Diego Padres by 12 runs before they were able to scratch their first run across the plate, ultimately falling to the NL West rival. Daulton Jefferies drew the start for the San Francisco Giants and never found his footing on the mound, as he lasted just two innings and surrendered nine runs. The Giants bullpen pitched well for the most part in extended innings of work, but the early deficit was entirely too much for this squad to overcome. The Giants split their first series of 2024 2-2. They face the hated Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-game road series starting tomorrow.
