EP #311 -This week on the podcast, I'm joined by Jay Davis, Owner at stairslide, Founder/CEO at Pillow Cube, and Founder of Creatably as we discuss Finding Your Entrepreneur Sweet Spot!

Jay Davis was born at a very young age in Utah. When he was 3 years old, his family made the decision to move to Chicago, then eventually found his way to Highlands Ranch, Colorado. After some more growing up, Jay graduated from BYU with a BS in Business Management and Entrepreneurship in 2008. Jay’s first job after BYU was managing business and product development for Vivint. But Jay knew something else held his heart: marketing.

Soon, Jay started creating viral videos for clients like it was his job, because it was. Jay’s online videos for Color Run got more than 8 million views across YouTube and Facebook. In 2012, he and Scott Winn created a YouTube channel that combined stunning visual experiences with original music and comedic situations. Their first 5 videos gained over 25 million views in less than 7 months.

As much as Jay loved viral videos, he knew he could do more. So, in 2017, Jay founded the advertising agency, Creatably, which is all about driving sales and increasing brand awareness. You may have seen their work with such brands as Manly Bands, Gabb Wireless, Homie, Owlet, and more. They’re kind of a big deal.

But again, Jay wanted to do more … and sleep more. So, he launched his own product, Pillow Cube, to billions of tired side sleepers around the world. Then Jay snagged the opportunity to improve the indoor slide experience and bought StairSlide. And clearly people liked what he was selling, because both brands experienced high 7-figure revenue in the first year.

Currently, Jay’s chillin’. Not really. He’s still building new companies, investing in startups, and hanging out with his family.
