Welcome to the fourth entry into the pre-season audio tour diary of our Everton FC correspondent Phil Kirkbride, who is providing the inside track on the Blues' preparations for the 2019-20 campaign, from Kenya to Germany and many other places in between. Speaking of Kenya, Phil kicks things off by looking back on Everton's stay in Nairobi and their opening pre-season friendly in which, he reveals, it was the youngsters who caught the eye. Marco Silva and the squad have since moved to Switzerland for a week-long training camp and matches against FC Sion and Monaco. Phil will join them this weekend and he explains why pre-season will really start under the shadow of the Alps. And it's not only going to be busy on the training pitch. Speaking on Friday afternoon, Phil says there has been a notable gear shift in movement behind the scenes on the transfer front, which was underlined by the breaking story he published last night about Fabian Delph (which can be read in full HERE). But on this podcast our Everton man talks about three players who have gone out on loan, one of whom's Goodison career is effectively over, and gives the latest on Ademola Lookman and where the club stands when it comes to interest in the in-demand Nicolas Pepe.
