Make sure you read RLTerryReelView.com! ***This Review of Pet Sematary Has a Spoiler Section*** Though during that spoiler section, we do compare & contrast this remake with the 1989 original. So it’s a spoiler filled discussion for BOTH films. Please be advised. We Have Guests - 2:00 What Is This Episode - 2:35 Cast and Crew - 3:16 Production Notes - 9:01 Specs - 11:48 INTRODUCING RYAN L. Terry for joining us in our review of the new Pet Sematary. Ryan is a bonafide horror movie expert as he’s proven time & again during the last two AllTheHorror month long collaborations this past October & February during WomenInHorrorMonth. By day, Ryan teaches screenwriting at the University of Tampa, and by night, he’s a film critic, logging all his reviews at rlterryreelview.com. He also happens to be a terrific guest host, moonlighting on some of our favorite shows, and we couldn’t resist asking Ryan to add MMO to his schedule. On a personal note, we became daily readers of Ryan’s work because first & foremost & always, he’s about film APPRECIATION. He’s definitely a kindred spirit in that regard. But what’s even more amazing about Ryan is that since we’ve been lucky enough to become friends on social media (who knew that could really happen), Ryan L. Terry has been nothing - if not kind, supportive, and above all, always ready to talk movies. So we could not have picked a better first guest host on MMO, and we hope you have as much fun listening as we had chatting with Ryan on Pet Sematary. Even with a guest, we follow our typical movie review format, and you get 2 reviews for the price of 1. We start with non-spoilers where the Mikes introduce the film with all of the preview information you’d want on the cast & crew, behind the scenes backstory, box office projections, and initial critical & audience reception numbers. Then we add Ryan for our non-spoiler reviews of the film’s production values, performances, and script before we play a spoiler warning musical interlude & dive into all of the plot details. Here, we discuss our bests, worsts, and final grades, and since Ryan’s a screenwriting professor, we’re able to get even more insight about the components of this terrifying story. We also can’t help but compare it to the original at each & every turn. Follow Ryan L. Terry on social media. He’s at RLTerry1 on Twitter & RL_Terry on Instagram. Again, you can read all his work exploring film, theme parks, & television at rlterryreelview .com. Please join Ryan’s mailing list by entering your email to receive notifications of his new work.
