Former Manchester United full-back Paul Parker joined the podcast this week, recorded overlooking the Old Trafford pitch.

Paul talked us through his childhood where he revealed he suffered racial abuse at school and while learning his trade as a footballer. He told us how that made him more resilient and shaped him as a person.

He also looked back on the top honours he earned while at Manchester United and how proud he is of that first Premier League win. But that he looks back on his time with some pain, as an injury sidelined Paul and paved the way for his rival at right-back, a young Gary Neville, who eventually took his place in Sir Alex Ferguson's side.

Maysie and Sam also read out your emails at the end of the episode. If you'd like to write to the only official Manchester United Podcast then e-mail utdpodcast@manutd.co.uk
