Submit ReviewFor this new Classic City Crime Miniseries, host Cameron Jay takes listeners back to Athens, Georgia 1977 where The Station had become a central place for entertainment, dining, and as Athens would have it- drinking. The old railway depot had been converted into the prime gathering place for students and locals a few years prior by businessman Lee Epting, just 26 years old at the time.
In Part 1 of this series, Epting explains to listeners how "The Station" came to be and what it meant to the people of Athens. To understand the story of T.K. Harty, you have to start at the Station- where a feud was brewing between Harty and his business rival John Mooney. It was a feud that would lead to murder, and so much more we'll talk about over the next several weeks.
