He is commanded to leave his birthplace and hometown, and go on a spiritual journey led by G-d. Soon, Avraham arrives in the land of Cana'an accompanied by his wife, Sarah, and his nephew, Lot, he is told by Hashem that his descendants would inhabit the very land that he is standing on. At the age of 99 years old, Hashem appeared to Avraham and said, to create an everlasting bond between you and me; you must circumcise yourself and every newborn baby boy at eight days old. The Parsha ‏concludes with Avraham Avinu giving himself a circumcision along with his son, Yishmael. We find out the two separate commandments regarding Bris Milah, and how they connect with the two different words that are used. We learn what it truly means to be whole and complete with Hashem.
