The first mitzvah is Bikurim, the requirement to bring the first fruits to the Beis Hamikdash. This only applies to fruits and produce that are among the seven crops that Israel is known for: wheat, barley, dates, figs, grapes, pomegranates, and olives. We find out why Bikurim is the first Mitzvah the Jewish people are commanded to do once they settled into the land of Israel. We learn the power of gratitude.
